they don't sound similar at all IMHO, most El34' sound laid back compared to the 84, softer, biger soundstage, but for me, less musical (whatever that means) 34's more like the big SE triodes, if you wnat more then 84's bring then try KT88's
some peeps swear they sound better after cyro freezin
what you guys think?

Only ever tried one pair of Russian military things that were cryod in one of my Suprateks.
Now I know not what the russian military things they replaced actually were but the new ones blew them away - just as well as they were soddin expensive.
I'm with the prof on the KT 88s, never heard anything with EL34s that rocked my boat, most unvalve like valves?
would it be worth me offering a cryo freezing service for valves do you think?

Hard man to please!
Jadis?
Radford? (one of me all time favourites)
Audio Research?
Classic McIntosh?
BBC AM8/4A? (top of my wants list)
or maybe SE triode connected Pye Mozart?
Just kick that Model 9 Marantz over in my direction

Have you got a modded chest freezer now, along with the plating gear your going to need bigger premises i reckon.
i got a customer with his own cyro freezing lab
and hes very keen to help...his lab takes the bits down to -200 and back to room temp in just under 1 week...so its slow done to get full effect
i belive the cryo done properly stress relieves the metal about 96%
expect some pu7 and special rega arms to have the full works on all the metal parts as well as the cable soon :)

Not to sound like a stuck record but I'd strangle any c--- for a PU 7 :-)
Bank Managers only cost the deposit because of the pure orgasmic joy of watching the life fading from them.
On the other hand since shares in HBOS are so f-----, and hence all their sharesaves, read pensions are also f---d, they are not quite the clever b'stards now :-)))))))))
Sorry to sound bitter but I can't understand how Equitable Life can 'steal' 3 billion, the ombudsman wantS to give 4 billion of taxpayers money to makes things cool and I would get hung for stealing a gallon of petrol to get to work.
Most people don't earn what the clowns running the country are claiming for a second home, whilst the bastards try to close every loophole to, well any other muppet?
muppet = honest, hard working, normal and dumm c-- with any morals.
Ops sorry, my system is sounding the dugs bas, must organise a bake off whilst I can still afford some electrkitie
