View Full Version : WTB: Remote control for Pioneer PD-73 cdp
I ordered one from Seme Nedis Ltd and after taking my money and making me wait a few weeks they decide it's been discontinued so they can't supply it. :dunno:
Keep 'em peeled ta. A remote for this fine cdp would be very useful.

what did you expect when you're dealing with a company who's name looks like "Some Neds Ltd".
They have these long deleted items on their website to ensnare suckers like me. Bastards.
There's a PD-91 remote on ebay.de at the moment. Does anyone know if it will also operate my PD-73? The pics of the two RCs look slightly different.

Here's the same PD-91 remote on TVK: http://www.thevintageknob.org/PIONEER/PD91/PD91.html

is there any way a "learning" remote might work?
Its probably quite likely that the Pioneer uses a standard chipset for the remote, so a compatible remote might work possibly?
Might do basic functions Kenny but probably not the specific ones to this player. I found out the PD-91 remote the Danish seller has on ebay will not operate my cdp. Besides, the thieving scumbag wants to charge 26 euros for a <500g packet which will cost no more than €7.25 eur first class. I know because I checked on the Danish PO site. It's so outrageous at nearly four times the true price I reported his listing to ebay. Why should my postage be capped at a maximum of £4.00 for heavy 200g LP when he can rip people off like that?

Hmm.
Do you know exactly what the model number of the remote control is?
There's another avenue that might be worth exploring, though it might involve a fair amount of leg-work. pawn shops and cash convertors and similar places often end up with remote-control mountains. might be worth taking a look?

No, I can't make it out in the photo of it on TVK and the manual only has a line drawing of it and I have a poor scan of that. It's CU-... something.
Thanks for the idea of cash converters, I'll have a look there.

Thanks for this A.N., I've seen this remote before and because it looks nothing like the original I'm dubious about ordering it. Pioneer have told me the remote for my player is no longer available anywhere except for second hand.

You have to either upload the photos to a photo hosting site such as photobucket or add the photos as attachments straight from your computer. I use photobucket as once the pictures are loaded, you just copy the image loaction in the drop down box under the photo and then paste it into the message you are sending.
