Hello,
I'm Shane, i'm new here, hope I enjoy using this site for info and help etc.
I use a nice Rega R200 tonearm on my good old Roksan Xerxes (Original)
The R200 was bought with the Roksan Xerxes, I'm using an Audio Technica AT-440Mla cartridge, which I think sounds and tracks very well for the money.
Very soon I will like to send my Rega R200 to Audio Origami for a check up, and will also like to have it rewired, both internal and external. I can't make up my mind weather to go for the copper or the Kondo Silver internal rewire:dunno:
Thanks
Shane

Hi Shane
Welcome.
As to the arm rewire, bang a post up and see what others think, to be honest i think the copper rewire will be excellent in that arm, and be more cost effective, but don;t just take my word on it. Make sure you get it wired form tags to RCA, and hurry up about it, the difference is far from subtle. :D

Thanks for another nice welcome:)
I think I agree with you about the copper wire, even my father told me it's best off getting the copper. The silver might be suited for a different tonearm and system.

Once when the Rega R200 is fully rewired and checked up, can it better all the SME 3009 tonearms? Both me and my father find the Rega R200 to be more powerful sounding over an SME III arm that he had once.

Yes, it's the AudioOrigami PU7. a fine tonearm built by j7, from what I understand, loosely based on a Syrinx design. However j fettles and works his magic and out the other end comes an arm which, quite frankly, pisses all over the competition, at any price :)
it got a Hifi world review a while back. the guys there agree :)

Oh yes, plus I just had a look. Nice looking arms but can't really afford them.
Anyway I'm dead happy with my Rega R200, soon I want to get it rewired, and get the anti-skating looked at.
My R200 was gold painted, I never done it but it looks dead nice on my deck.

The last 2 pics are a bit old, sorry. I think this is a great sounding tonearm, not the most detailed, but the most musical i've ever heard.

Sorry to bother you,
Do I go to the Audio Origami section to make a post about the copper and silver rewire?

I believe the Gold plating on my Rega R200 could have been done by the prev owner?
Unless, was there ever a limited edition Rega R200?

Does this cartridge have a flat frequency? I have to say this the best cartridge for under £200. To me it sounds more expensive than it's price.
