Shpongle were amazing at the Roundhouse.
A real feast for the ears and eyes.
The place was full. Must have been about 2,000 people there.
They came on at 9.00pm, played straight through until 10.45, went off for a few minutes then came back to do an encore.
The music was glorious. Like the albums, but more so! They barely stopped between numbers, only allowing enough time for people to come and go on stage. There were up to 12 of them on at any one time, inluding the dancers.
The costumes were incredible, like nothing I've ever seen before.
Simon Posford never stopped grinning, so he must have been enjoying himself! Raja Ram was also clearly having fun, and played some amazing flute.
The new album should be excellent. They said, about 10.00pm "this is the new album", then played for 45 minutes. Perhaps they previewed it in its entirety, no idea!
Sadly, it wasn't available at the gig on vinyl, so I'll have to wait a while before being able to listen to it.
