what a great cart! £50 bargain s/h ... :D

got lots of detail, and works well with the artemiz too. currently spinning Pentangle Basket of light. 'tis great... :)

I'd recommend this cart as a great bargain even at full price...

I second that, I've been really pleased with mine, although I spent considerably more than £50 sadly! Great cart though and worth the full whack I paid last year:)

how are you finding the tracking Kenny? If I was to have a gripe about my AT cart it would be that it doesn't really liketoo muchbumpy stuff at the end of a record

mr hucker is completely sane.. the oc9 is pants but if kenny's happy who am i to argue

if you think that cartridge is good you should try the denon dl304....about 100 times better in every way poss.

Can we refrain from saying "x is pants" please. If you dislike something give the reasons for doing so.

Thanks,
Eddie

oh touchy....:moon: ok it's harsh, thin, bright, distorts on hard to play records(the same the oc7).. hass very little bass, to much needle talk to be any good.

but apart from that it's great..

Thanks for that Mr Peck.

Mr Peck, instead of saying where the OC9 is bad, wouldn't it be more constructive to say where the Denon was better in your system, less negative and more constuctive then?

"compared to the OC 9 the Denon was smoother......," go on try it, i dares ya.

not noticed any undue harshness. it's brighter, certainly but that could be down to

1) getting used to a very worn old cart
2) VTA
3) different house sound

or a combination of all three.

with the denon you can follow the entire mix.. the oc9 just makes a noise..

with the denon there is a bass you can hear..

with the denon there is very little surface noise and very little needle talk, in fact you cant hear it tracking even with your ear right next to it...i've had an 0c7 and an oc5 the o5 was much better than either... the oc9 brought back terrible memories of forever changing kit.... but now i'm back in audio heaven thanks..

but i'm glad your happy kenny me ole mucker nice one to you:^

.i tried the 2 and my wife was listening aswell... as soon as the denon went back on the sme she said thats much better what have you done with it...bear in mind the 304 was wired up wrongly so we were both hearing it for the first time..
