Sounds the dogs but " Blinded by the Light etc" is most apt.
I guess the tinted screen is there to stop it doing your head in.

Lovely bottles, all it needs now is a jacobs ladder sticking up behind the tube

Hi, yes, putting a joint deal together to get a bulk arm purchase, hopefully sorted next month. Just hacked up my last RB250 for this:

    arm pron alert

    first one in New Zealand.

... back on topic, I'd like to know what B+ that thing's running to get 160W, must be at least 1000V

    Some info on the NAT.....

This amplifier runs on a generous 10Hz-100kHz frequency range and was built to last: it runs on long life, military grade 6N1P-EV and 6N30P-DR tubes for driver purposes and an industrial type direct-heated Eimac 450TH triode, everything run through a bias mode allowing to switch between 40W and 140W modes. Magma sports a 105dB signal to noise ratio and a fixed phase, sporting a 22.5dB gain for an 8 Ohms load.

    Fookety fook.

    One last picture.

For no other reason than a pair will set you back $350,000

Does that make them the worlds most expensive valve amplifier?

interesting any way . still like the big macs sounded alright to me , and nice and loud to ,i think we had it near 110 db in the house !!!!!, as loud as the club down the road in the bar area a little away from the main floor , and they got about 2 k in the power amp rack hitting the dance floof , but it sounds fooking terrible, on a good night that is.

the Valves are Stock Mac, and 30 second exposure in pitch black, the dampers were a gift.

I'm getting drawn into the Mac gear of late, still can't believe the sound from the 'Shadow Audio' room a year ago at the Manchester hifi show, utterly fabulous. Loved the C2300 Mac valve pre/Clearaudio Talisman MC cart/Art Deco 10 sigs/MC501 power amps, oh yes playing 'Tin Pan Alley' on vinyl, feckin blew me clean away!!!! Just ask Paul. Must start saving me pennies...

    Hi Pete.

The Mac really is stunning. If you've got the pennies, go for it. You won't be dissapointed.

My KT88s displaying a nice blue hue. I am not sure what the stock ones in the Mac are. I am using Svetlana's (C) Winged. They sound superb in my amp and did I mention that they are blue. I have never seen blue like that before.
