    Default Ron Sexsmith

Just listening to 'Other Songs" at the moment. Surprised to see he never really gets a mention on this (or other forums if it comes to that). Lovely character to his songs, with that slightly off key feel to his voice that seems to be a feature of other singer/songwriters that I like. Strawberry Blonde has to be one of my favourite songs by any artist.

Has me hooked from the opening lines

"She was not the girl next door
But the girl from 'round the corner"

Other Songs, Time Being, Retriever are all excellent.

I don't think he's ever really made a bad album - just some are less 'interesting' than others.

Bought one of his albums given the glowing reviews and the artists I like who speak highly of him. Couldn't hear the attraction myself.
In a pile somewhere, must give it another try.

Elvis C is another of my favourites - interesting that he is 'allegedly' a big fan of Sexsmith.

I think he is one of those type of artists that you either think 'thats great' or you just don't get at all.

Why I bought Sexsmith in the first place however Elvis C lost me a long time ago, possibly my all time favourite but can't take to his newer stuff, on the otherhand he's interviewing Clinton & I'm jobless so will give him the benefit of the doubt :-)

ditto - probably my favourite over quite a long period of time but he lost me a few years ago. I stayed with him through a few of his various twists and turns but he managed to shake me off in the end.
