but do they sound the same? On some 'speakers the lower drive unit handles just the bass, on others, bass and midrange, with the top one just the midrange. True D'A has both drive units handling the same bandwidth. Superficially, they can look the same, but have different jobs.
    cheers.....Bryan

Info on the drivers Bryan. They do sound the same, as far as I can tell anyway. The Q Acoustics floorstanders have this driver arrangement too.

    Drivers:
HF: 25mm (1") Nitro-Urethane layer damped woven polyester dome, neodymium magnet assembly
    LF: 2 x 152mm (6") coated multi-fibre paper pulp cone

He takes the flaming head gear off halfway through. It probably got a bit warm lol. Also, he couldn't mime very well but a great track.

These tannoy Mercury V4 are very good. The bass is all there but not overpowering, how I like it. These excel in the midrange, that's where their strength is. They are crystal clear too with good separation and I haven't got them on their floor spikes yet.

Of course you buy a pair, then another set immediately comes up, local and cheaper.
