    Thumbs up New Front Page

Just to let everyone know of a minor addition to the forum - clicking the logo will now take you to a Content Management System front page instead of the forum front page.

There is a link there to take you to the forum front page if you don't want to click any of the 'newest posts'

    Cheers

    Kenny

you can also close down each of the windows if you don't like/need them, like your user cp, calendar etc

The Front page is something I've been wanting to upgrade for some time. the VBAdvanced CMPS is a free add-on that I've found which goes some way towards what I've been looking for.

it provides handy links to a number of frequently used features, and it also allows a bit of control over highlighting information. I can create a new thread, like this one, and send it to the CMPS Front page so that more people see important information quickly.
Also it lists recent posts as well as providing other community information in a concise way.

that old front page was nothing more than a place holder to take people to the forum by way of a click here.

Jeez, this new format is tough going...for me anyhoos. It makes for tricky navigating around the forum.
See when you click on a thread in the "recent thread" front page view, I get taken to the first and not the last post.
    Anyway round this Kenny?

Looks good to me Kenny. I'm happy as long as when using the Quick Reply it doesn't unsubscribe you from a thread you didn't want to be unsubscribed from, a la Wiggywam.

I had to keep logging in at every visit but think I've got around that now by clicking on the reply button at the bottom of a thread instead of the Log In in the top banner. The '+ Reply to Thread' button gives you the 'remember me' option whereas the Log In at the top doesn't.

Could the forum name/logo in the top banner be a bit smaller Kenny as it's covering the 'Welcome (username) part? Seeing that bit just helps members to confirm a bit easier that they are logged on.

The logo is alright on mine Gary. Comes about a third of the way along from the top left hand. I use the "simple purple" skin.
