Dougie, That new preamp I bought for Jean's birthday sounds pretty damn good. I'm glad I made the right decision. Unfortunately I forgot her birthday card I don't think she'll be too pleased tomorrow morning

Confronting your demons aye? It might not be much consolation but quite a few of us have been there and many more will follow. I'm glad you've seen them off though

Anyway I just wanted to post a pic of the speed control before I put the lid back on. The new motor and mounting plate are there too. Don't you just love that pink sleeving Thanks Hugh and don't any of you lot get the wrong idea

Sorry that not enough? I thought that you said that the motor/supply had been run in, only partly mate, it's getting better and better all the time.

As I said to you " I was prepared for more athority in the bottom end, but not for the extra defination and delicacy at the top " it really did take me by surprise, and it continues to do so. Every disc has the benefit of sounding fuller, and this benefits the whole system, my speakers are no longer in danger of being replaced, and the Graaf has sharpened up as well. It's like haveing a new system.

Thanks again Si, It's my shout when I see you next.

We also have to adjust to the change in the system Dougie and I think that accounts for some of the running in. I'm really made up that you're enjoying it and I'll take you up on that offer when I see you next time

I haven't had time to try the dac yet Doug but I'm working on it. I've been a bit busy since I got back.

Btw how are the felt pads doing?

No probs with the DAC, I'm not useing it so Keep it as long as you want. The pads,,,,,, Well they're still there, and doing sterling service, I've not tarted them up with wraping paper as yet but I'll get there.

All the best to you both, I call at the weekend.
