Default Plattamat 2 - now in black!

I'm hoping this helps wean LP12 owners away from the awful felt rag - what ya think folks? I can't get it to look any closer, but performance is far superior (in my opinion of course)

On sale end of the month £28.50 inclusive of P&P in the UK. Good discount offered for long term C-O-N members, please PM me if interested.

    Regards

    John R.

Build it and they will come...

Yes the felt rag, I can't understand why people still use it, it's not even as if it looks good, most look scruffy at best.

    Good luck with this John.

Yeah good luck with the Plattamat 2 John.

Cheers Lads! Totally agree with you prof!

I've many rags here, (Linn & Rega) as testimony to their complete unsuitability to play music. I just tend to cut them up for other uses, sometimes as expensive dusters for the missus but I also keep some back from this fate to remind me and visitors how good the Plattamat really is.

    Regards

Thanks very much Batty, very kind of you to comment.

Better still though, it really helps enrich the emotion/connection/engagement between listener and music. The effect appears not to be turntable dependent. I've spent a few weeks trying and listening to various turntables and the results are all positive.

I might just treat myself to one after christmas, I have never tried a mat on the Rock, but then again I had not tried a TT weight until this year either and I liked that.

    Say John,

Would you describe the Platta-2 as exhibiting "inky blackness"?

    Funny, John.

Thanx, yes, the avatar might look even better with your arm board.

I've been admiring that, in combination with the mk vi Sole!

Now that I've replaced my cork plattermat 1 with a black plattermat 2 I can only say that IMHO it is both musically and aesthetically a no brainer upgrade from plattermat 1 and simply beyond comparison with the original felt mat. Outstanding job John.

Well I'm hoping it's in the air now m8 - weather's been disrupting air travel in/out of the UK lately.

My Plattamat 2 in black has just been delivered, I have had to fit a spacer to the trough on the Rock to allow it to clear the record as it is swung across, all good now.

I'm off to do some listening, catch you later.

Initial thoughts after 1 side of Blackfield 1 are that there is less background noise and more detail and slightly more controlled bass, much easier to follow individual vocals or instruments throughout a track. I am liking this very much, thanks John.

If this is an indication of the kind of improvement that your products make then you, Sir are a genius.

This is a Big Bang for Buck product. Congratulations, should sell like hot cakes.
