Default Building power amp and stuck at power supply.

I have built up the boards and have a very large piece (2.1metres) of aluminium heatsink ready to cut, but I can't remember how to build a regulated power supply, I'm OK with the basic unreg supply but regulating 56 V dc is a bit different, I have the toroid and 2 bridge rectifiers but can't remember a cct for regulating around 6.5 amps. Per rail max.

The amps need plus and minus 50 volts, the toroid has 2 40vac secondaries.

I seem to remember something like a 2N3055 should do the job but I don't have a cct.

    I don't think a LM317 / LM337 will cut the mustard on this.

Any help with either a cct or link would be great.

    Thanks

    Steve

Yeah you will probably need something beefier than LM317/337. Sounds obvious but have you googled for a CCT?

Failing that you could just use an unregulated supply with the big toroidal. IIRC my Mission Cyrus 2 amp was unregulated in the power amp section.

Yeah, thinking of a gaggle of electrolytics maybe 100,000 uF per rail. maybe 5 20,000uF in parallel. 105C and maybe 100v working.
I they will be the most expensive part of the build.
