    Default Gig news and reviews

Thought we needed a sticky thread on the theme of gigs/shows/concerts.

To mark our 34th wedding anniversary I managed to persuade Alison to do something different so we're going to this this evening:

    Looking forward to it.

(Edited to change it to 34th - it seems longer, lol.)

Why is it perverted to look at women in ripped tights? Paying to see men in ripped tights would be perverted.

Back n Black were very good last night. Everything turned up to 11 lol. Those Swiss girls know how to rock. The first support was a covers band so tracks like Lenny Kravitz - Are you gonna go my way, Free - Wishing Well and Alright Now. Not too bad but the second support band were awful - a stereotypical heavy rock outfit, in looks and sound. We could have been sitting there in 1979 - even most of the audience looked as they did back then. Overall a good evening out.

Just in from Peter Gabriel Back to Front in Dublin - crazy sleet filled drive back up North after the gig.

Top show, amazing sound and really tight enthusiastic band who seemed to be loving it even though it was the last night of the tour. I don't care much for So as an album bar one track 'In your eyes' which was outstanding. The first half of the show I absolutely loved. Sneaked off just before the encore to avoid the inevitable traffic bottleneck out of Dublin.

He always puts on a good show and on stage is the epitome of cool and relaxed. A very talented guy. I presume he started on the piano with his new song.

Saw the Zombies at the Stables on Sunday - brilliant band was great. If you can get to see them they are performing Odessey and Oracle in London at the Palladium on 12th June and are performing at Music in the Gardens in Sheffield on 29th June ... Blunstone's voice is as good if not better than it has always been and Argent is a keyboard supremo .. if you have any soul you will love them live.

Last gig I went to see was Iron Maiden at Leeds. They were quite good.

Before that I saw Kebu in Hull, enjoyed.
I went to go n see Art of Noise & Human League in Liverpool but some spod decided to crash on the M62 meaning I was stuck for several hours and missed it, was looking forward to that more than the other two

    Cool

Went to see The Zombies at the Stables (Wavendon) on 4th June .. I thought it would be nostalgic but was amazed at how alive and fresh it all was. They are on at the Palladium on the 29th Sept .. there are just a few tickets left .. go if you can. They played old favourites from both The Zombies and Argent (Hold your Head Up and God Gave Rock and Roll) .. my favourite being Time of the Season performed beautifully .. One of the most under-rated bands in Rock History ..

Oh bugger I told you already age comes with its problems
