    Default bought new old turntable

I said I wouldn't buy any more turntables (or was that my partner?) but I received another one in the post today. Its a Lenco GL59, about the oldest good Lenco going.

I had a little trouble getting it started (from cold) but the seller said he hadn't lubed it, so it may have been because of that. Anyway, with a little persuasion I got it going, and fixed it up with my outboard Rega 250 and cAT92e. I've been listening to it all afternoon, it hasn't missed a beat, and it sounds better than a stock GL75 it replaces.

I'm building a few new plinths for all my Lenco's this year, this new/old '59 will be used for 78's only (well, maybe!).
    cheers.....Bryan

quite near the truth, and although I think my partner is a stunner, she can sing very well, and play finger-picking guitar. We were in an AmDram production about a year ago, she sang, and I played alto sax; we both really enjoyed that!

ps lovin' the sound from the GL59. May leave in the man springs, to emulate the Linn bouncy castle affect...

Not listened to a 78 in over 20 years, still have a few of them, cool looking things.

Still gutted my Grandma threw out her collection of Frank Sinatra wax cylinders as 'no-one would want to play those now'.
