    Default Hi from down under

    Hi all

Friend of mine recommended I check this place out. J7 has been known to me for some time but I haven't had any direct dealings with him.

I'm a pom, as we say down here, Yorkshire originally, (which means I look for bang for buck, and am a tight arse lol) and am a vinyl head from way back. I'd say what my system is but as it's all been modified beyond recognition it would be pretty meaningless....

I like British gear, currently configuring/restoring a couple of old Sondeks, and playing some Epos ES14s in my second system.

I've got 3 dogs, a brave cat, and a braver bird.

Hi Dogman. Welcome to the forum. We are a friendly bunch here but don't be surprised if your posts don't get answered immediately as we are all usually too busy listening to music

j7 (audioorigami) has a section in the forum specifically for all TT and tonearm related questions.

Thanks Eddie, I'll look for that section. Yet to find my way around, as you say, too busy spinning the black stuff

Have come to a time when instead of buying more, I'm going through the collection. To find there's stuff I've never played. Modern day squirrel habits seem to devalue everything...

    Hey Andy

Huddersfield mate. Bottom o't hill I used to think of it. For many years, precisely here - https://www.google.com.au/maps/@53.6...7i13312!8i6656

The wonders of technology. I can visit my old house from the opposite side of the world without getting off my arse.

Thought my avatar would, erm, perk things up a bit.

I've just realised Eddie's avatar is an amp. Thought it was some kind of building - my eyes aren't what they used to be. Luckily my ears still are.

Welcome to the 'quiet' forum Steve...... never a lot going on in here, but dedicated vinyl lovers nonetheless..., who provide some good chat when they can be bothered to get away from their system and venture onto their keyboard (LOL) and good advice when needed from like-minded folks.

Get stuck in when you feel the urge......

Good heavens. They must play havoc with her back.
20 years ago we had Johnny Cash, Bob Hope and Steve Jobs. Now we have no Cash, no Hope and no Jobs. Please God, don't take Kevin Bacon

    Thanks Prof.

They must build them strong in Russia. That's where I obtained her photo - from an Internet advert suggesting that I Date Russian Women.

I did not attempt to do so however for it's been my experience that successful dating requires the two of you to be in close proximity. Much, much closer proximity than say Russia and Australia.

It also crossed my mind that I might not actually end up dating the young lady in the picture, and that possibly an element of false advertising was in play. It could well be, for instance, that she is simply the Admin Assistant for a Gulagfull of Briennes of Tarth.

Not that I wouldn't date Brienne of Tarth. In fact I'd probably do whatever she said. So for me, it was the proximity thing that ended up being the deal-breaker.
