The finished product is just beautiful to look at there, John, of course, it's not beauty in the looking that you're after. It's just nice for the buyer to enjoy it in all its magnificence, before hiding most of it from view in the installation, there after to enjoy the beauty of how it sounds.

Congratulations on getting this product finished and delivered to market!

Just in case I come into some extra dosh, is the "Sole Ultimatum" compatible with pre cirkus editions of the LP12?

Unfortunately not Tubey. I could not see the value or logic in offering a Sole VIII with Cirkus and pre Circus mounts. It would just get messy. However, Cirkus bearing housings are available new from some sources for Ģ110.

I would then advise you having the inner platter spindle checked out to see if it could be refinished to work with the new housing.

Thanks John, that makes total sense from a manufacturing point of view.

    Heh heh heh.

    Interesting discussing lads!

One Mr. Paul Messenger believes that Rega's arms work well on the LP12. They are also slightly longer at 9.5 inches than Linn arms.

Bryan, if you look closely at the underside shot you will see three blind holes drilled to within 1mm from the top face of the arm board on a 42mm PCD so if a customer wants a three point mount version that's what they get.

    Cheers

So, while Rega decks will continue to lack for a Sole, it doesn't have to be that way for their tone arms!

Presumptive spell checking really cheeses me off because that should have read interesting discussion lads.

My analogue oscilloscope has a CRT display

I wish I could still run an ARM based computer, I had two of them. They were brilliant.

Anyway, John, as usual, I wish you well on this one.

I did some more very critical listening last night into the wee hours and the tweaks I have undertaken have taken this Sole VIII to Keel level or even above..

One area where Sole's up to version VII lagged behind the Keel was bass, the Keel was better in that department, not by much granted but it was better than the Sole, but to my ears that's not the case any more !!
