Its strange how if you buy from a supplier to professional users a comparable product is so much cheaper than from a hi-fi specialist! must admit never considered buying stuff like this until it popped up on internet search and I only did that because the stuff sold as "hi-fi" speaker wire seemed over priced to me, especially as some of the stuff looked similar to the stuff on sale at electrical suppliers but at many times the price! will post on how/if it changes sound of my system for better or for worse or if it sounds the same

Put a fancy name on it and bump the price up.

My dad once swore that the oil in his Audi had to be "Audi" oil from the dealer. We eventually managed to convince him that he could use other oils at a fraction of the price. Ye pays yer money.....

yep same with BMW oil, that was Castrol, now Shell(BMW prob got a better deal from Shell!) same spec oil from BMW was 3x price of exact same oil from Castrol(got info that it was same oil from Castrol, and bulk oil at local BMW dealer was Castrol according to service manager!)

^ That could be a Chinese proverb.

Unless you spend a small fortune on them. Then you will convince yourself you hear vast improvements.

I think there is a lot in that, you spend the money so there HAS to be an improvement

Well I've always found more of a difference changing speaker cable to changing interconnects. Should I get me coat?

possibly some combinations of amp/speaker are affected by differing speaker cables more than others,or maybe until you do spend a fortune most do "sound" the same or even switching cables may just clean up the contacts between cable/speaker and cable/amp,any corrosion will start introducing slight distortion, bit like have a non-linear diode in circuit
