    Default Mitchell style arm

@J7 I am considering sending in a arm for the custom treatment. I would like to know your thoughts on the perforated holes on the tonearm like Mitchell or AudioMods. Is there a substantial benefits to playback?
Peace luv and respect to. all.

    Hello Both.

    HNY to you

Haven't Rega modified their die to increase material thickness at the bearing end of the arm so improving vibrational behaviour?

I think the RB 202, RB 303 and RB2000 sport this modified arm tube, so if you have one of these variants I would guess no holes would be needed ?

Isn't it Michell as in Michell Engineering? Is Mitchell another company?

No worries, I kept seeing that name and wondered if it was a different company.

Aren't the holes purely for weight reduction on a heavier/sturdier wand?

I thought they were to reduce resonance amplitudes! Would the new wand fit an old RB300?
    cheers.....Bryan

Yes but they must reduce weight too. Holes by Passenger sounds especially good, as does Fixing a Hole by The Beatles.
