    Default New Bike

Traded the Honda CB1000R for a Yamaha FJR 1300, Honda was fun and chuckable, but it was also cold and wet as had no fairing, not only that Marg and Chas both decided they liked to ride pillion, so i needed a bike fit for purpose, tried a few including the Kawasaki Versys 1000 that I thought was 'the one' turned out I was wrong Kawa was a decent bike, but it didn't grab me, Chas and I went out for a test on the FJR and when we came back Chezi pointed out that my smile was bigger than my face, anyway deal was done and I picked it up Good Friday.

Done about 500 miles on it over the weekend, (it was a year old with 850 miles on it as a demonstrator) including a wet Easter Sunday Charity run along with 467 other bikes (police escort the lot) Yamaha is fast (very) comfy and has luggage, and electrically adjustable screen and cruise control even make the motorways bearable, I absolutely love it and we are already planning some long weekends away, including an anticlockwise (Marg;s choice) run of the North Cast 500 around top of Scotland.

20 years ago we had Johnny Cash, Bob Hope and Steve Jobs. Now we have no Cash, no Hope and no Jobs. Please God, don't take Kevin Bacon
