Perge is by admission a tribute to and almost copy of classic era TD. At times quite good but at others little more than a fan copy

It had quite good feedback generally, a few said it was their best.

Its pleasant enough as a copy of TD but this one seems a little lack lustre...sonically Dull if that makes any sense....devoid of sonic range perhaps. I'll give it a few more listens later

Limited sound pallet when doing 1970's stuff as it's all subtractive synthesis or tape samples.

    Still, can't please everyone.

Yep I understand that but there is something missing from this....even my old copies of TD encore sound blissfully crisp compared to this. I'm not sure at all as I love this type of music. Perhaps it'll be a grower.....who knows.

Bought the re-issue of Marillion's Misplaced Childhood, cost quite a bit for the Vinyl and digital boxed sets but really pleased with them.
    The presentation is glorious.

The LP sounds really special, I've had several remasters and whatnot of this album over the years but this one is by far the best I've heard it. Properly lush.
The CD set sounds great, but isn't quite as nice as the LP version, however there is a bonus It also comes with an HD version on a BD (I guess SACD is dead) which sounds about the same as the CD version, however there is a 5.1 mix on there as well that's very immersive, need a big room and system to really enjoy the room where I have my AV speakers is only about 5mx5m so isn't really big enough for the sound stage, will have to drag everything into the garden and put it through the PA, I'm sure the neighbours will understand.

Anyway the point it, which ever version you get (if you can still source them) really quite special, I only wish the other Marillion/Fish albums get the same treatment.

An original 1981 copy. Really pleased with its near minty condition. It's perfectly flat and looks and plays like new. The sleeve is pristine too.
This has completed my set of the five Police studio albums.

I've got all the Police records, they're not quite perfect as they've been played, a lot over the years and not always on a nice table.

There's a pun somewhere to do with police and bad/good records.

Do to others as you would have them do to you. (Luke 6:31)

I have given up on receiving the Ok Computer remaster from Amazon. Ordered in June and still no dispatch date so I cancelled it. In its place I have ordered two Björk film soundtracks - Selma Songs (2000) and Drawing Restraint 9 (2005).

Would it be safe to say that you are a bit of a PV nut?

Any recommendations for one of their more accessible offerings?

20 years ago we had Johnny Cash, Bob Hope and Steve Jobs. Now we have no Cash, no Hope and no Jobs. Please God, don't take Kevin Bacon

    One of my faves.

Unfortunately, one of the records from Yesterday (For you and Me) is rather bowl-shaped.....this I can live with as it still plays. What I cannot live with is the fact that even after cleaning it sounds like I am playing sandpaper!

A replacement is on it's way I am told though I don't hold up any hope.

Euan...I already have all their back catalogue on CD but got carried away with the vinyl reissues.....most of which sound sublime on the new TT.
